I created a Facebook page to complement this web page, and if you've looked at any of the postings, you'd note that they were very non-political. We have always striven to focus on the pilot's stories and the artwork featured on their aircraft, but with no explanation, Facebook took down that page. Many efforts to petition them were unanswered, even though their webform said that they'd "get back with you"... they never did. My suspicion is that Facebook objected to any image that had a swastika in it - but as any collector of WW2 militaria knows, most items from Germany during that period usually featured the swastika.
What is puzzling is that Facebook has many groups that feature Luftwaffe warbirds, and they still operate with no apparent issues. Regardless of the uneven application of any "community standards", any image of a swastika that is found on any Axis War Prize items is of a historical nature and does not indicate a promotion of that political POV.
Have a great day, everyone!
